Winters are in. Make your skin ready to face the dry cold air, low humidity and central heating. In winters most of us face the problems of rough, flaky and itchy skin. Here are some simple skin care beauty tips for eyes, skin and hair to help you in cold weather.

Hair care tip:

Keep your hair moistened in cold weather because low humidity and temperature leave hair strand to static cling. Shampoo your hair every 2-3 days. Daily wash leads to dry and frizz hair. Also minimize the use of flat irons and dryers.

Condition your hair before wash. Use deep conditioner with lavender, jojoba or rosemary oil for almost one hour and wear a shower cap to make it less messy. Wrap a warm towel around it to make the oil penetration easy. Do this once a week to get healthy shiny hair. Avoid using styling products with alcohol in cold weather. Use the products with panthenol, silicon or essential oils to add shine and texture to your hair.

Skin care tip:

Switch to a heavier moisturizer. Cold temperatures can suck the moisture right out of your skin. “Now is the time to switch to a richer moisturizer that’s powerful enough to not only replenish moisture loss but also to seal in the moisture that’s already there,” says Doris J. Day, M.D., a dermatologist in New York City. Look for a moisturizer that has hyaluronic acid to help bind moisture to the skin.

After shower, apply oil based cream or baby oil instead of lighter lotion to beat the dryness.
